About DWPA
Danish Wind Power Academy (DWPA) was founded 18 years ago in 2004, with a background from the field in the wind industry going back to 1989.
Today our staff counts a total of over 150 years of practical ‘hands-on’ experience within an O&M environment across a wide range of turbines.
This solid industry experience has led to the development of a unique and very versatile “condition-based training concept” that takes a data-driven approach to deliver value-creating seamless solutions targeted directly at our customer’s needs.
A value based approach
At DWPA we employ a unique methodology of “condition based training” that gives the participants the maximum effectiveness in a short amount of time.
By first analyzing the wind farm SCADA data, we uncover the top downtime errors for your specific site. We then combine this data with a pre-training skills assessment of the techs on that site so that we can create a custom training that focuses on those skill deficits that relate to the most costly downtime errors.

How to contribute to our vision
As technical trainer you will be a part of dedicated team that is characterized by not compromising on safety, has high quality awareness and enjoys a good laugh.
You will be responsible mainly for the delivery of our technical training program, developing training material, recommending improvements, and staying knowledgeable about our wind turbines and technology. You will be a part of training activities both locally and abroad, and an estimate of 100-120 travel days per year is to be expected.
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance of understanding wind turbine technologies. Preferably, you have an electrical background, but technical understanding is important. You are ready to utilize your knowledge in training others. Wind turbine knowledge and solid field experience is required. Most of all it is important that you have strong communication skills.
You are a good judge of character with a high tolerance towards other people. It comes naturally to you to navigate easily in a busy and dynamic environment where the situation can change from day to day. This calls for a structured approach to your work. You generally demonstrate a “why not” attitude, are self-driven, but also possess a great sense of team spirit. As the trainings are held worldwide, it is important that you are fluent in minimum English orally as well as written.
The DWPA Training Centre and the technical training portfolio expands continuously with new platforms from all the well-known turbine brands. It is therefore required that you have experience from the wind industry either offshore or onshore, where you worked in an onsite environment with a technical focus.
In return of your commitment, we offer you…
We are a global team of diverse colleagues who share a passion for renewable energy and competency development beyond compliance. We focus on personal and professional development to grow internally within our organization. DWPA offers a wide variety of benefits such as flexible working hours as well as home-office possibility for many colleagues, competitive compensation package, attractive benefits, continuous personal development, career opportunities and much more.
If you work in the turbines now, we consider it as a carrier change for you to become a professional trainer at DWPA. We will support you with an intensive onboarding plan.

Meet Chris
October 2020 DWPA took a chance on me, they saw something in me to become an instructor in the wind industry.
I also took a chance on DWPA, going out of my comfort zone and making a leap from technician to instructor.
Just over a year later this is the best decision I ever made. I love my job and my career again.
This is a snap shot of a visit to the uk, where I held a Turbine theory in classroom one week and on-site practical training the next.
I get to perform and the different roles I get help make this job the best job in the world.
